LYRICS
How on earth did you get to me?
Me, the devotee of Newton’s Theory
I believe that what goes up must ultimately return
And so for safety reasons
Oh I prefer to keep my feelings
Firmly pinned to terra firma now
Oh I’m afraid of heights
‘Cos I’m afraid of falling
Oooh-whoa! I’m afraid of falling
Well I took a walk outside
To clear my head
Forgot myself completely
And danced for the stars instead - yeah
The air was cool
There was a mist rolling in from the south
Fair took me by surprise
Like a peppermint in my mouth
Oh you do this to me and
I can’t believe it
My heart is fifty feet above the ground
Now I’m gonna have to retrieve it
Oh Mr. Jones, ooh what have you done?
Oooh-whoa! What have you done?
So I’m up here in the stratosphere
Floating upside down
And now that I’m gliding
I can move without a sound
Oh it’s a beautiful view
‘Cos all I can see when I look up is you
And no one moves through those fluffy clouds
The way that you do
Oh it’s a regular, bona fide, medical enigma
I’m afraid of heights so
What the Hell am I doing up here with ya?
Oh Mr. Jones, don’t you leave me alone
Oooh-whoa! Don’t you leave me alone.
You were quite unexpected
Not what the doctor directed
But I should have you
At least three times a day
Oh I don’t need a sweetener for ya
Don’t want water to help me swallow
I can take you straight into the vein
I don’t know if I’m still or I’m standing
I can’t tell if I’m breathing or drowning
Oh I feel like I’m swimming underground
Oh Mr. Jones, let’s just take this on home
Oooh-whoa! Let’s just take this on home
